20S EVO - Using the Sena Device Manager

I am getting error message "Failed to recognize device.  Cannot open USB??

The Sena Device Manager allows you to upgrade the firmware and configure the device settings directly from your PC. Using this software, you can assign speed dial presets, FM radio frequency presets and more. It is available for both Windows and Mac.

Before you begin to update firmware you MUST power your device off.

If you do not power the device off then you will see this following message:

I'm having the same issue and the device is powered off.

    Edit:

As many have found you need to use the original (or replacement) cable that came with the device.  I just got mine from Amazon and it worked first try.  I don't know what the specs are on cables and I tried several before buying one, but this worked.

Same message for me.  It is powered off.  I'm using a MAC.  Nothing helps.

I changed to the original cord and that fixed the problem.

I tried all the things above.  Despite being a new USB cord that was successfully charging my phone, I tried a different one, based on Mike Noxon's comment above, and darn it...   It WORKED!!   WTF?

I recently had this problem and the cause was driver signature verification being enabled on my computer.  The driver for my sena installed but the signature could not be verified so the update manager couldn't communicate with it.  If you go to device manager and see a yellow triangle on your sena device in the list then it's probably the issue.  Google disable driver signature verification for your operating system and follow those steps and that should resolve the issue.
