The Voice Command video was immensely helpful.  Before watching it I did not understand about tapping the BODY of the 20S before to go into standby mode as the manual is vague about this and doesn't have an illustration.  I was tapping the jog wheel and getting nowhere except frustrated.  Now it works!

    Great job, thanks Sena!

Bill, you can also tap the surface of the helmet around the 20S since the motion sensor will register the vibration as shown here: here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ps8GuFHiuJ0.

Ahhhh...that explains how this works.  Maybe the written manual should have a picture or something to explain this better, otherwise its not intuitive.  Thanks.

I got New 20S from Sena last week. Yes it is New and already different.
I didn't have a time to play with it yet, but here is couple things I already noticed:
-it is tighter build (no gaps between main body and silver cover),
-torx screws are now set with silicone,
-Jog dial is has a tighter feel as well (in previous two models I could turn the dial with one finger while resting unit on the table, not with new one- which is good),
-new box (single set) is taller (new is 3-5/8" vs old 3-1/4"),
-new 20S kit now includes thinner speaker pads (new are about 50% thinner),
-new 20S kit now includes foam speaker covers as well.
That's about it, so far. So yes, new Sena 20S already feels better- tighter (build quality).

At high speeds, wind turbulence activates the voice command.  Can I adjust the sensitivity of the voice command activation to prevent the wind buffeting from activating the voice command?  I am growing weary of the my Sena unit coming on with 'Say a command!" and me yelling back 'Cancel'.

in the Sena Bluetooth device manager application, there is a voice command sensitivity selection that should resolve the false initiation of voice command from air buffeting, should you be experiencing that like I was.

My Zumo 550 is not sending voice instructions to my 20s. My cell phone is paired & working through the Zumo, and I can listen to MP3's alright, but am not getting the GPS voice instructions from the Zumo. Any suggestions?

I had the same thing briefly on my Zumo 665, Phil.  Turns out I had inadvertently turned the driving directions volume to zero%.  Oops.  Fixed it.

@Phil: How did you pair your Zumo 550 to the 20S? Since you have the phone paired to the Zumo 550 then you will need to put the 20S into mobile phone pairing and pair it to the Zumo 550. Also, in the Bluetooth settings on the Zumo 550 press the Audio button at the bottom of the screen and make sure it says "Phone calls, navigation and MP3s".

Ken - thanks for the tip - I'll check it tonight when I get home.  I am not sure if there is a volume setting for only the GPS instructions - I will double check it.  I guess stranger things have happened.

I have another question - when you turn off the bike and that turns off the zumo, do you have to get your phone and fiddle with the blue-tooth setting again when you re-start the bike and zumo?  I sometimes turn off the bike but leave the zumo powered up, (while we get gas or a pit stop) so I don't lose the phone connection.  Seems like when the zumo actually turns off - I lose the phone Bluetooth setting and have to go into the phone settings again, go to the zumo, and click on Profiles, Call Audio and put the check in the box there.  Then, everything works again (except my GPS instructions.)  Thanks for the info and I will check on it and let you know what I find.  FYI - my phone is the Samsung Note 3,  for another couple days, when I get the Note 4 on the 17th, this Friday.

It's funny you should ask that question, Phil.

With my previous iPHones (3, 4, and 5); turning off the Zumo did not affect the Bluetooth connection from the phone.   Whenever I'd go down to my motor and turn it on, the Zumo would light up and the phone would connect.

But with my new iPhone 6+, that's no longer the case.  Now, it's intermittent.  I get on the motor and begin my ride (short or long) and at some point notice that the Zumo never connected to the iPhone.  To remedy  this, I have to stop, get out the iPHone, tell it to forget the Zumo, and then re-pair.  Then, it's good to go.  (for that trip, anyways).  It might even be good for several more trips.  But within a day or two, I have to go through the "forget and re pair" routine.

I was going to ask on the Apple iPHone forum.

Ken & Sena help desk - I feel pretty stupid!  I discovered that the Zumo 550 (Under the tools/wrench section) shows the language as English but below that, where the red lips show, there is nothing selected.  Upon further examination, I found that I no longer had the American male TTS choice on the Zumo.  Somehow, I had inadvertently deleted the choices of voice files.  I re-loaded several voice files (male and female - both with TTS) and now, I am back to normal with the street commands coming through on the 20S.  I am not certain how those files were removed but that is apparently what happened.

I do have another unrelated question - I know the advertising says it is possible but has anyone successfully paired the 20S with another competitor brand??  I have not had an opportunity to try pairing with Cardo unit???  I have a friend who has a Cardo and says he is certain it cannot be done.  Anybody tried it with success??

Hello.  I purchased the 20S and paired my Galaxy S5 and it works flawlessly for phone and stereo audio.

I wanted to use my old Galaxy S3 as a full-time GPS.  Actually, I use it as my full-time GPS.  I wanted to pair it to my 20S for voice directions.  When pairing the 2nd phone it will only pair it as a phone.  (Not a big deal...I thought.)  I have tested a few GPS apps like Locus Pro and OsmAnd which both allow for voice commands through the notification channel, stereo channel and phone channel and none seem to trigger sound from the 2nd device.  I did install one of those apps that "forces" all sound to the phone channel but then it made it like a phone call and it wouldn't hang up.  It basically made each Bluetooth channel mutually exclusive of each other.

I think I may have something setup wrong but there aren't many options and I've tried them all.  I've read through the manual to see if there was some quick function to flip between each phone BT channel and I didn't see anything.

Does a "real" GPS just interrupt the main phone/music channel when it is giving driving instructions or does it blend in with ducking and then fade out after the instructions are given?

I believe that it depends on how you have the "real" GPS connected to the Sena.

If you connect it as the "1st phone"  the real GPS takes top priority and blanks out everything else, including music, intercom, etc.  This is what we don't like.

If you connect the real GPS as an audio device, it then blends in with other audio and blends out when finished.  The problem with this 2nd phone connection is that it's HSP and doesn't support stereo music.  Many if not most of us use our GPS as an MP3 and XM Radio music and entertainment source as well as a navigation aid.  So connecting to the Sena as an HSP device is not acceptable.

I have had my 20S for a few months now.  Taken it out a few times.  and I am disappointed.  I have the Scala G3 for years, and while it wasn't perfect, it worked mostly.

I just want to use my Zumo 665 for GPS and MP3 (I don't have the satelite enabled) and I want to use my iPhone5s to make and receive calls.  Thats it.  The Phone to Zumo to Scala  has NEVER been good.  75% of the time I can call, but when the person I called can't hear me.  Or vice verse.  So I got the Sena 20 hoping I could have my Zumo connected to the Sena 20 for Nav and MP3 and my iPhone connected directly to the Sena 20 and NOT go through the Zumo just for making and recieving calls.

But it doesn't matter if I hook the GPS up as first phone or second phone, I can't get my iPhone to work unless it goes through the Zumo and that just doesn't work effectively enough.  I understand I can have my phone be first phoen and give me music (mp3) and make and recieve calls, but then I can only get Nav from Zumo.   My phone just doesn't have enough memory & battery life to be my mp3 player.

Does anyone have any suggestions so I can simply have my Zumo give Nav & MP3 and my iPhone make and receive calls WITHOUT having phone go to zumo then headset?

@Gerry: Perform a Factory Reset on the 20S and clear all of the pairings from your Zumo 665 and your iPhone. Then pair the 20S to the Zumo using the Mobile Phone pairing method in the Audio section of the Bluetooth settings menu. Once the 20S is paired to the Zumo 665, pair the 20S to your iPhone using the Second Mobile Phone pairing method.

@Sena,   So, I almost go it.  I did the factory reset.  I cleared the Sena from my ZUMO and my iPhone.  I then followed your instructions.  A couple of weird things that I can't find a video on, or anything else.  First.  When the Zumo and the iPhone are connected to the S20, and I bring up the iPhone app, it only shows a GPS in connection 1, and nothing else.  Although, the iPhone has to be connected or I wouldn't even see that much.

Second, it seems I can't get voice command to make a call.  I can say it, it sounds like the S20 is trying... but all I get is silence.  But if i manually make the call on the iPhone, it will dial and I can communicate quite nicely through the s20.   I just can't initiate the call from the S20 either by voice or my pressing the phone button.

Also, I can NOT get the motion sensor to work at all.  double tap the body, the helmet, over and over.. is a thousand different ways.  it never ever enters voice command.  I thought it was me, so I had my wife follow to video on how to use voice commands.. and she couldn't tap the body or helmet correctly to get it to enter voice command mode.

And lastly, I set up audio-multitasking in the hope that I could hear music from the Zumo or Nav commands from the Zumo while I was talking on the phone.... but nada....

so, while i am making some progress.  I was so hoping the double-tap command voice would work, because I found the entire jog button usage impossible.  After using a Scala for years, which had a separate button for most commands.. going to 1 button to figure everything out was impossible

Will I have to turn off audio-multitasking?  I can live with it I have to.  having the GPS interrupt intocom and phone calls.  but wont playing mp3's from the zumo interrupt everything? or allow nothing else to work since highest priority is the Zumo?

How do I get the "tap on the body" part working so I can enter voice command.  It wont work.

Have you looked at the "How To" videos in the link in the first post of this topic?  They cover this among other things.  If your unit isn't responding to tap-tap you should call in to Sena support.  If it doesn't work they will likely send you a new one, they are pretty accommodating in that respect.

I have the same problem as Gerry.  I have configured my Sena 20s as per Configuration 2 as the 'How to" video sows.  I raised a fault log and 6 days later I was instructed to do a factory reset which I have also done.  I still am unable to use the Phone button on my 20s to activate my iPhone 4s voice control.  Getting pretty annoyed now.  I haven't even tried to connect with another rider, god knows what issues that's going to bring up.

This is my first Bluetooth Comms, and I went with Sena as it seemed on paper this was the best tool…..I'm beginning to think I've been duped :(

Any way to improve the FM reception on the 20S?  Mine is virtually useless.  In all other aspects (that I've tried so far after using it for the last few months) this thing rocks!

Dont give up on Sena, I had trouble with the FM reception and the use of earbuds and they fixed the problem. It took a while. you need to start a work ticket and keep an open dialogue. They stand behind their product.
