Remove Sena Headset Before Updating iOS on iPhone

If you plan on updating to the latest iOS version on your iPhone then it is recommended to remove ("Forget This Device") your Sena headset before performing the update. This is to make sure that the latest version of iOS does not cause any problems between your iPhone and your Sena Bluetooth headset.

Go into the Settings app > Bluetooth > tap the " i " symbol on the right side > Forget This Device > Forget Device

After the iPhone has updated it's firmware, you will need to pair the Sena headset with the iPhone.

What if I didn't do that?

I already updated my iOS to 8, but did not "forget" my device.  Now I can't control my phone from my Sena SMH10R. Every time I touch the centre button it say "call rejected" where as I used to be able to get Siri or play music etc.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

Remove the SMH10R from the iPhone, do a Factory Reset on the SMH10R, then pair the headset back to your iPhone and see is that fixes the issue.

Then you would need to wait for Apple to release an update that the fixes issues the Bluetooth issues. There should be an update coming out later this month to fix these issues as the recent update caused a lot of problems with Bluetooth connections.

Thanks, I did do that. Remove, reset, re-pair.  It still didn't work.  But then I had a hard time connecting to a blue tooth in a rental car that I don't usually have problems with, so it dawned on me that I haven't turned off my iPhone in a while.  So I did that and now I don't have any of the problems, everything is working again.

    Typical, rebooting was the solution.

Hope that works for you Shaun.

Today, Apple has release an firmware update for the iPhone which is iOS version 8.1. Before anyone updates their phone please remember to remove their Sena headsets from the list of Bluetooth devices. Once the update is completely installed, please pair your phone to your headset once again.
